Dhayanidhi Alagiri has been a prolific
producer ever since he came into the industry with his Cloud Nine Movies
banner. Mankatha was one such landmark movie which gave this banner a
major push. Ever since the success of this movie, Ajith fans have been
anticipating some news or the other, about Mankatha 2, as such is the
impact that the movie has created.
Dhayanidhi, in a recent interview, spoke a bit about Mankatha 2 and also Ajith's mass in the state
"That
people are still talking about Mankatha 2 shows the grand victory that
Mankatha achieved when it released. People can't forget such a movie and
I want to make sure that 'Brand Mankatha' stays on in people's minds.
The sequel might happen in future but we haven't started any discussions
in this regard. Good news is that Venkat Prabhu has already readied the
plot for the sequel. To me, Ajith signifies 'Mass' in Tamil Nadu"

Ajith Get a Hang Of It

Ajith is someone who doesn’t mind taking risks for his films. Be it performing daring stunts on moving vehicles, trying out the salt-and-pepper look, or playing the hero with a baddie image, he has always been sporting. And many are aware of the injuries he has sustained and the surgeries he has undergone while shooting for stunt scenes in his films. But looks like this hasn’t stopped the actor from performing intense action sequences for his film; especially the ones that involve him hanging!
Even in his latest Veeram, we hear Ajith fought the baddies atop a moving train. A source reveals, “This sequence was shot in Orissa, and has Ajith fighting inside a train, and on top of it! There’s a particular sequence in which he is pushed out of a moving train; he hangs from a bar as the train crosses a bridge. This is one of the several scenes that have been shot using helicams.”
Chennai Times takes a look at some of the sequences from his previous films where Ajith’s dare-devilery is on evidence…
MANKATHA
This sequence in which Ajith does a wheelie with Mahath in the pillion, leaps on to a moving van from his superbike and hangs from under the van, received the loudest claps in the theatres. The fact that the actor is a biker in real life seems to have helped him perfect this scene.
BILLA II
Move over bikes and vans, the makers have chosen a chopper for Ajith this time. With two drool-worthy actors, Ajith and Vidyut, fighting it out in a flying helicopter and namma Thala hanging for his dear life, quite literally, had us on the edge of our seats.
ARRAMBAM
There’s a lot of action in Ajith’s latest film. But we dig this scene in which the actor forces the door of the police van open and jumps out in full speed, stunning every cop, the crew, and us.

''Ajith doesn't believe in the numbers game anymore''

Director
Siva recently spoke at length about the upcoming Ajith starrer Veeram.
He doesn't seem to be bothered about any impending pressure to succeed,
following Arrambam's victory run at the box-office.
"I
don't feel any insecurity or pressure. Ajith has remained the same
since his early days till Arrambam. He doesn't believe in the numbers
game any more and just wants to deliver something unique to each project
he does. Heroism isn't on his mind too and you can feel such a surge of
positive energy whenever he is around.
We
have shot for more than 102 days and Ajith didn't back away until he
saw complete satisfaction in my visage, irrespective of the time of the
day we were shooting. I have a lot to learn from Ajith.
I
assure that Veeram would be an ideal movie for Pongal with proper
family sentiments, action and a never-seen-before Ajith. In addition to
Ajith, all the other actors have good space as well and Ajith treated
all his co-actors like his own family."
