Dhayanidhi Alagiri has been a prolific producer ever since he came into the industry with his Cloud Nine Movies banner. Mankatha was one such landmark movie which gave this banner a major push. Ever since the success of this movie, Ajith fans have been anticipating some news or the other, about Mankatha 2, as such is the impact that the movie has created.

 

Dhayanidhi, in a recent interview, spoke a bit about Mankatha 2 and also Ajith's mass in the state

 

"That people are still talking about Mankatha 2 shows the grand victory that Mankatha achieved when it released. People can't forget such a movie and I want to make sure that 'Brand Mankatha' stays on in people's minds. The sequel might happen in future but we haven't started any discussions in this regard. Good news is that Venkat Prabhu has already readied the plot for the sequel. To me, Ajith signifies 'Mass' in Tamil Nadu"

'Arrambam' Rules Chennai Box Office; Prabhu Deva to Remake Ajith Starrer in Hindi?

"Arrambam" seems to be the first choice of the public and the film has been attracting audiences during the weekends. According to Sify, multiplexes in Chennai continue to screen four shows every day.
The Ajith starrer received positive reviews from critics upon release. Fans also gave thumbs up for the film directed by Vishnu Vardhan.
It performed exceptionally well in India as well as overseas markets. There have been no big releases in Tamil for the last few weeks, which has helped "Arrambam" to sustain its business. The release of "Pizza 2:Villa" did not significantly hamper the film's collections.
But, "Arrambam" business might get affected once "Irandam Ulagam" releases on 22 November. The Arya-Anushka starrer is heading for a massive worldwide release this Friday, which will reduce the screen count for "Arrambam" and the film's collections might drop.

Avinash’s next is with Ajith

Sandalwood actor Avinash's platter is full not just with a range of roles, but also films across industries. While he plays a fun-loving father to Puneeth Rajkumar in Ninnindale and a righteous police inspector in Upendra's Brahma, Avinash's next will see him play a powerful and strong villain in an upcoming Tamil film that stars Thala Ajith in the lead role.

The Tamil film, titled Veeram, is being directed by Siva of Siruthai fame. Having worked with the director previously Avinash says he agreed to do the role because it's very interesting and challenging. "I play a character who, due to poverty, has become vengeful and is willing to do anything wrong for his own benefit," says the actor adding, "I've already shot for a couple of scenes in Chennai and will resume shooting for it in December. So far, my interactions have been with actor Nassar, as he too plays a villain in the film."
But does he share screen space with Ajith? "Of course, there will be a lot of scenes with Ajith. I'm looking forward to them, because Ajith is a very simple and dedicated actor. It's always a pleasure to work with him," says Avinash.

Ajith Gautham Menon Project to Kick Start in Feb 2014

Its good news after good news for Ajith fans. The star's recent relase Arramabam has been announced as a Box office Success and his next outing Veeram, directed by Siruthai Siva has been confirmed as a Pongal release.

The joy for fans does not stop here. The Talented actors propopsed project with acclaimed Director Gautham Menon, to be produced by A.M.Ratnam who also produced Arramabam will reportedly kick start on February 15, 2014.

Gautham Menon is currently busy shooting his upcoming project with Simbu in the lead which is set to be a quickie. Ajith is also shooting day and night for Veeram to ensure the film meet its release deadline.

Both of them will not have to take even a short break before starting there next project it seems.

Arrambam stays rock solid in the Top 10

 

We have regularly been reporting about Arrambam's box-office exploits, in India as well as in overseas markets. In Malaysia, the film was in the nationwide Top 10 chart over the first 2 weeks and in its third weekend, it continued its presence in the list.

At No.7 in the Top 10 chart in its third week, Arrambam has proved its longevity in Malaysia too, in addition to its steady run back home in Tamil Nadu. Thor: The Dark World, continues its hold on the top for the third straight week in Malaysia. 

 

At the end of last weekend (November 10), Arrambam had collected more than 8.66 crores in Malaysia and the figures at the end of the third weekend (November 17) are eagerly awaited

We have a date for the new Ajith - Gautham beginning

Gautham Menon is currently among the busiest men in the industry along with Simbu, as the two are shooting day and night in and around Chennai, for their upcoming untitled film.

This one would be a mix of action and romance, claimed Simbu a few days back. It must be noted that Gautham is back to his shoots after quite a hiatus, post the release of Neethane En Ponvasantham in December 2012 and he expressed his happiness over the same in his social media space. 

 

"Very happy to be back at shoot after almost a year of waiting. STR now(day and night)and looking forward to AJITH sir from february 15th."

 

The director is next looking forward to begin his film with Ajith and this film would go on floors on February 15 in 2014, as said by the man himself. GVM had earlier said that this film would be a stylish mass entertainer and with the starting date just around two months away, the buzz around the film is on the rise.

Arrambam is still strong, but after Irandam Ulagam?

Ajith's Arrambam is into its third week and the film is still holding fort in many big screens across Chennai city, despite the wide release of Villa. Big screens in the city such as Sathyam, Devi, Albert, Abirami 7 Star, Kasi, Udhayam, Kamala, Sangam, S2 Theyagaraja to name a few are still screening the movie, either in all the 4 shows or 2 shows atleast. The other multiplexes such as Inox, PVR, AGS, Mayajaal and Fame have also allotted good number of shows to this multistarrer, directed by Vishnuvardhan. 20 days posters of the film have been splashed all over the city and it is believed to be a profitable venture to all parties.

 

This coming week on 22nd, the much expected Irandam Ulagam would be seeing a huge release. It would be interesting to see if Arrambam can withstand the Irandam Ulagam surge and still keep standing. We'll keep you posted.

Director Vishnuvardhan is the man of the moment for having delivered a slick action entertainer with Arrambam, that has not only satisfied all the hardcore Thala fans but also the general audiences. The film enters its third week today and, despite some new releases, is still firmly holding fort across many screens in the state. There is also a whole lot of talk about the film nearing the 100 crores club for worldwide collections, though it hasn't been officially clarified.

Arrambam 10 Days Collections At International Box Office

 

 Arrambam has continued its dominance at the Box Office in the second week too. The Tamil movie has fared well at the international circuit and its collections show that the film has continued to pull the audience outside the country. ADVERTISEMENT The figures of the collections look nothing but amazing, say traders. The turnouts for Arrambam at theatres have not slowed down and this has helped the Tamil movie to set new records at the Box Office. UK/Ireland Box Office Arrambam has collected Rs 1.25+ crores at the UK Box Office in the first week in 37 screens. In the week two, the Tamil film is being played at 26 screens. The total collection of the movie in this part of the world is Rs 1.80 crores (177,131 £). It is in the 26 position it terms of collection in the UK. Only Bollywood movie Krrish 3 (10th position) has found a place in the top 10 position in the list. Vishal's Pandiya Nadu has managed to earn Rs 6.26 lakhs in its first week and it is settled at 35th position followed by Karthi's All in All Azhagu Raja, which is in the 38th position at the UK Box Office. The total earning of the Karthi's movie is Rs 33.79 lakhs.

Bala opens on Ajith

Director Bala is well known for his silence, and has always been off the media. The Director currently working on his new untitled venture which reportedly has Vikram playing the lead, went candid in a Talk show hosted  by actor turned anchor Sangeetha.

When asked about the  chain of beads he was wearing, the Nan Kadavul director said it was gifted by Aghoris in Varanasi that was made of the backbone of 108 dead people, 

Apparently the director's reference to Naan Kadavul made the interviewer turn the topic towards Ajith and the rumours surrounding their aborted association in that film. Bala known for his boldness did not take a moment to answer that all the news that he employed goons to physically attack  Ajith  and abused him verbally were just rumors . "If you want to know the real reason ask 'ultimate star"', he added. Ajith was replaced by Arya in that fil. It's a sheer co-incidence that the interview is out at the time when both Ajith and Arya are rocking in theatres together through 'Arambam' which  released a couple of days before Diwali, and has been announced a super hit.

When asked  to share about a movie that has impressed him recently Bala had a few words to appreciate Myskkin for his Onayum Attukuttiyum  that released  two months back. "he is a boon to the film industry" this is what Bala had to say about Mysskin.

No doubt, it's a rare and worthy  praise for Myskkin's efforts. .

The Arrambam wave sweeps Malaysia too

Malaysia has always been a good market for Tamil films and films featuring most of the saleable stars in Tamil Nadu, generate good income in Malaysia too. 

 

Ajith's Arrambam which released on October 31 has been performing well all over the world and Malaysia has been no exception. His previous films such as Billa and Mankatha were good hits in Malaysia and now Arrambam has collected close to 5 crores (788469 USD) in its opening weekend (October 31 to November 3), from 80 screens with a healthy per screen average of 9856 USD

 

Arrambam opened at Number 2 in the said weekend behind only Thor: The Dark World. Azhaguraja opened at Number 3 while Krrish 3 was at Number 9.

 

Arrambam continued its presence in the Malaysian Top 5 in its second weekend as well and the gross at the end of the 2nd weekend is awaited.

It's all about MASS for Ajith's Veeram

The teaser of Ajith's Pongal release, Veeram was released on Thursday, November 7 and the response to this teaser has been mind-boggling to say the least. The official clip has clocked more than 680,000 hits so far.

Ajith's fans are, as expected, totally in love with this 36 second clip which shows Ajith, at his aggressive yet casual best, just tilting his head in readiness as a bunch of wild bad guys are running towards him. His all-white attire and 'salt and pepper' look have been welcomed with wide open arms by his loyal fans.

The 'Thala' Ajith connect continues in Simbu's 'Vaalu' as well

The director of Vaalu, Vijay Chander, opened up about his long in the making movie, which has been experiencing issues ranging from the production house to the dates of the artistes involved.
 

In Vaalu, Simbu plays a North Madras guy who is jobless and has a thing for speaking punch dialogs. He is an ardent Thala Ajith fan, in this movie as well and the title 'Vaalu' was chosen specifically due to this 'Thala' connect.

Hansika plays an utterly talkative girl and her ease at delivering dialogs with the perfect lip-sync, despite not knowing the language has impressed Vijay Chander.

The song supposed to be rendered by T Rajendar would be recorded soon and all the issues surrounding the title 'Vaalu' have also been resolved.

With Santhanam also present, the scope for laughter and funny antics is unlimited and Vijay is eagerly looking forward to coordinate with his supremely busy cast and complete his movie as soon as possible.

Thala's Action Amidst Mountains

Though the project has not yet been titled, just the teaser of the film, released on the hero's birthday, has garnered more than 1.5 million viewers in unders 5 days. Ajith-Vishnuvardhan project is already making it big, and plans are on to make it even more grand on screen. The team is currently shooting their penultimate schedule in Maharashtra and will soon be moving to Mahabaleshwar.

The team is expected to proceed further to the exotics of Ladakh and Leh to shoot nail biting sequences of class action. Already known for their mega hit success with a suave movie like 'Billa', the actor-director combination is coming together once again with lots more suspense, action and grandeur. Exclusive Latest Updates On Ajith 53 And His Leg Injury

Ajith got his right leg injured while shooting a daredevil stunt scene for his upcoming film with Director Vishnuvardhan. Even though everyone read it just as a news, started to worry about his health once the video of the accident from shooting spot got leaked online.
We were able to gather some news for you regarding his leg injury and surgery. Due to pre-signed commitments, Ajith will be finishing his 53rd project with Vishnuvardhan and 54th project with Siva Kumar and then only will be performing the surgery in his right knee. The ligament surgery is expected to be performed on August 2013 in Mumbai (or) in U.S after finished those two projects.
The next shooting schedule of this film will be held in Dubai from first week of February 2013. Lot of action sequences are going to be canned during this schedule. Ajith, who previously gave a temporary break to gyming due to severe pain in his knee, has started gyming again to get back into shape to prepare for the hectic schedule ahead.
And regarding the much expected “title” of the film, the “Ajith 53″ team is ready with a mind blowing title design which gonna make every fan excited and it may be released at any moment.

Ajth's Valai

Finally! The 'Ajith-Vishnuvardhan project' is replaced with the title 'Valai'.

There has been a lot of hunch about the title of the film since the project was announced. Sources close to the team has said, "The unit for a long time, was toying with the idea of calling the film 'Valai'. It goes well with the plot of the film."

It has been reportedly said that Ajith in this film would be doing a role of an ethical hacker and thus the title would sync well with the movie as a whole.

There has also been information which said that the team has approached the family of (late) film maker Sridhar for getting their permission to use the title 'Sivandha Mann' which was the latter's production starring Sivaji Ganesan. But it has been denied by some source which said that the director of the film, Vishnuvardhan hasn't considered any other titles for the film.

The team is now all set to fly to Dubai for their next schedule of shoot.

Taapsee says that Ajith is simple

Taapsee has started working on Vishnuvardhan's multistarrer with Ajith, Nayanthara and Arya. The actress says that despite the huge star cast there are no ego hassles and there is a great vibe on the sets. She revealed that the director has given every character due importance and they will all be memorable so there is no pressure on any one. Taapsee said it was hard to believe but Ajith despite being such a huge star is very simple and went out of his way to make sure that she was comfortable. Ditto Arya and Nayanthara. Taapsee said that she and Arya have great fun while working together and she has nothing but respect for Nayanthara who made sure that her junior co - star was well looked after.
